The meaning

“Everything returns. Nothing stays still.”

The sun and the moon hold each other inside one circle — day and night, birth and transformation, the waking and the sleeping self. It is for the times when you need reminding that nothing is permanent: not the dark stretch you are in, and not the bright one either. Everything returns.

The meaning

“Wholeness is found in the rhythm of opposites.”

Two figures dance, each with an animal companion: a sheep for the gentle, yielding part of us, a cat for the part that will not be owned. Between them burn the flames of transformation, and above it all sits an eight-pointed star. The dance is the argument we have with ourselves — and the moment it stops being an argument and becomes a rhythm. For anyone who has been told they are too many things at once.

The meaning

“Everything seems still. Underneath, it isn't.”

A figure curled beneath the ground, held inside a seed. Above it the sun still turns and the stars still mark the time, but down here nothing appears to be happening at all. That is the point. This one is for the winter stretches — the months that feel wasted from the inside and turn out, later, to have been the whole preparation.
