Looking after a hand-printed piece
A hand-pressed print on cotton needs a little more care than a factory transfer. Treat it well and it will outlast almost everything else in the drawer.
Washing
- 01
Wait three days
Before the very first wash, give the ink at least three days after delivery to settle. This one step does more for the print’s life than anything else.
- 02
Inside out, 30 °C at most
Turn the shirt inside out and use a gentle cycle — or wash by hand. The print should never rub directly against the drum.
- 03
No softener, no bleach
Softener coats the fibres and lifts the ink; bleach attacks it outright. A mild detergent is all it needs.
- 04
Dry in the shade
Never in a tumble dryer. Hang it out of direct sun — strong sunlight fades both the cotton and the print.
- 05
Iron inside out
Iron on the reverse, or through a cloth. Never put a hot iron directly on the printed area.
Size & fit
Every shirt is a boxy cut with dropped shoulders: wide through the body, slightly cropped, meant to be worn loose. If you are between sizes, or want it more oversized, take the larger one. For a closer fit, size down.
- 100% combed cotton from farms converting to organic

In centimetres, measured flat: width across the chest, length from the top of the shoulder to the hem. Hand-finished pieces can vary by a centimetre.
Looking after a paper print
Prints arrive unframed, stamped with the Moltéa seal. Keep them out of direct sunlight — hand-pulled ink on art paper fades in a sunny window over the years. If you frame one, an acid-free mount keeps the paper from yellowing. Hold it by the edges; the paper takes fingerprints more easily than you would think.
The ink, specifically
The fabric block-printing ink is water-based and ACMI AP certified (ASTM D-4236), with no substances harmful in normal use. Being water-based is why it takes so well to cotton — and why it does not like a tumble dryer.
Common questions
Why does my order take a few days longer?
Because it does not exist yet. Every piece is printed by hand after you order it, which adds up to 4 working days before it ships. Nothing sits in a warehouse hoping to be bought.
Will the print crack or peel?
It should not. The ink is pressed into the fibres rather than sitting on top as a plastic layer, so it softens with the shirt instead of flaking off. Cool, inside-out washing keeps it that way.
Are the shirts unisex?
They are cut as a women’s boxy fit, but it is generous and wears well on anyone. Size up for a looser fit.
Can I get a design as a print, or the other way round?
Sometimes. New Sight and Me Time are T-shirt only for now, and some blocks work better on paper than on cotton. Ask me — if it is possible, I’ll do it.
Where do you ship?
Across the European Union, with tracking. If you are further away, write to me and we will work something out.
Can I return or exchange a piece?
Yes. You can return any piece within 14 days of delivery, even though it was made for you. The shipping & returns page explains how.
Something arrived damaged.
Write to me with a photo and I will replace it or refund you. The legal guarantee for defects is two years — handmade does not mean you should accept a flawed piece.
